Our goal is to combine the functional and durable qualities of concrete with art.
At IMBE Craft we design and manufacture concrete products to your needs and specifications. Various materials such as oxides, resin, coloured stones, aggregates, fossils, recycled glass, metal, and wood inlays can be cast into the concrete. We make our own rubber and silicone moulds and work with a team of metal workers and carpenters that can create legs, stands and brackets matching your unique design. We also manufacture tree trunk coffee tables.
Each piece is handmade and unique. We do not strive for a machine-quality finish but rather feel that slight imperfections are part of our product’s charm, giving them a unique, handmade look.

JACARANDA TREE COFFEE TABLES

Made from Jacaranda tree wood
Sadly this Jacaranda tree from a garden in Pretoria was cut down to make way for a building project. The main trunk was saved, cut into 3 pieces and brought home to Imbe. We believe in giving things a second chance, so the two largest pieces were lovingly debarked, cleaned, treated with insecticide and fungicide and mounted on casters. They are solid wood and extremely heavy. Part of their charm is that these pieces still maintain many of their imperfections, we wanted to leave them as natural as possible. The smaller of the 2 had a very uneven top side. We made it even with a coating of resin that really brings out the colour of the wood.

Projects
BOTTLE WALL
This feature wall is visible from the kitchen window and entertainment area of a house that we are currently building, while also screening the court yard. It is reinforced with brickforce making it equally as strong as a brick wall.
The idea behind this design was the desire to use something other than normal building materials. The bottles used were recycled from parks, sidewalks, and other areas where the environment was littered. Some bottles had even been collected over the years, such as can fruit bottles, thus holding memories of those who gave them to us.
The position of the sun and the weather on the day will determine what the wall looks like, thus constantly changing. Finally, a light was placed in the court yard behind it for a unique effect at night.
BOTTLE SHOWER
During the process of making the bottle wall we absolutely loved the way the light shone through the blue bottles. This led to the creation of this unique bottle shower that captures the days rays of sunlight giving you the feeling of stepping into another world where you can unwind and relax every time you shower.
FRENCH WATER FEATURE
This water feature was designed according to a clients brief to be the perfect transformative addition to any garden patio. Everything from the rusted wall to the copper spouts was hand-wrought to reflect the tranquility found in French villas with cool stone courtyards, tucked away in quiet valleys surrounded by fertile green rolling hills.
